Department of Public Health Engineering, Jamalpur District Vision,

Mission, Strategic Objectives and Functions :--

1.1 Vision: To ensure safe drinking water supply and hygienic sanitation for all the people of Bangladesh.

1.2 Objective (Mission): To ensure water supply and sanitation facilities for all, to implement the project and to ensure the efficiency of local government institutions and communities for proper maintenance of these facilities.

1.3 Strategic Objectives

      1.3.1 Strategic Objectives of Public Health Engineering Department, Jamalpur District

           1. Development of potable water supply system in rural and municipal areas.

           2. Development of sanitation system in rural and municipal areas.

            3. Ensure water quality

1.4 Functions

    Adoption and implementation of water supply and sanitation activities in rural areas;
     Construction, development, expansion and technical assistance of water supply and sanitation infrastructure in municipal areas with the assistance of the municipality
    Arranging for safe water supply through arsenic-affected and other problem-prone areas (haors, rocks, hills, etc.) through innovative technologies;
    Provide technical assistance to Union Parishads and Municipalities for the development of skills in the operation and maintenance of water supply and sanitation systems;
    To provide water supply and sanitation facilities on an emergency basis during emergencies (floods, cyclones, etc.);

Provide technical advice, information, training to local governments, private entrepreneurs, non-governmental organizations and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) on water supply and sanitation system development;
